Mr Hempstock, who thought Wairakei more wonderfui tllan Rotorua, regards the thermal regions of New Zealand as being the most extraordinary place on'e could ftnd. He was shown over most of the places of interpst and particularly femembered being told of the eruntion of Tarawara. . ; Mr Hempstock, who was spending a week iu Havelock' at tlie residence of Mrs E;1 AHen. ,of Lucknow road, remarked on the difference between the fcemperatures registered liere hy day and by night, and stated that in Uonrdon and in England generally tjie difference was not so nnticeahle, Mr 'Hempstock will Tiot have time to vjsit the South Island, and. returning to vAnckland via New Plyrnouth ,and the Waitomo caves, will sail for Can ada bv the Niagara, and is due to be in England on June 13.
