SCRIPTURE LESSON IN HASTINGS. Th the usual Sunday evening address given in the Orange Hall, Hastings, it was shown from the Scriptures that Christ promised that He would return to the earth and therefore the hope of that return occtipiesfa prominent place. in the faith of every true Christian. He also foretold (as also did the Prophets) deve'opments that would take place upon the earth shortly before His return which would therefore become ■'signs" of His coming and the impenciing end of the prevailing polijfcical social and economic disorder which afflicts the vast majority, of mankind. Amongst the signs which were mentioned were, the predic-ted increase in knowledge and invention, the return of the Jews to Palestine, the love of sport and pleasure to the exclusion of God and "sound doctrine," and the crying of peace and safety concurrent witb general preparation for war. i
