IN THE AIR
TO-MORROW'S BIG AIR PAGEANT. INFORMATION FOR PUBLIC. The Hawke's Bay and East Coast Aero Club's pageant bids fair to establish the Hawke's Bay aviation meetings amongst the most important in the Domnion, as evidenced by the fact that the programme arranged for next Saturday's gathering at the Longlands aerodrome, Hastings, has attracted no less than seventeen machines, with the possibility of two others competing, if circumstances permit. Waite The public should note that the price for the admission of children to the aerodrome grounds has been reduced from a shilling to sixpence, so that the rising generation will be afforded the opportunity of acquiring the "air sense," which will be so necessary in their future. Arrangements for the appointment of officials, and other details of Saturday's pageant have been completed, and a separate telephone will be installed for the use of the press. The Mayor (Mr G. F. Roach) has been asked to follow Sir Andrew Russell (president of the club) in an address of welcome to the Hon. J. G. Cobbe, Minister of Defence, Rt Hon. J. G, Coates (patron of the club), and Major-General Young (G.O.C. N.Z. Military Forces). ENTRANCES TO AERODROME There will be three entrances to the aerodrome, the principal gate being on the west side of the road from Stortford Lodge, another at the Paki Paki road corner. and the third at the Bridge Pa end of the Bridge Paki Paki road. The flying ground has been fenced off with barbed wire and the crowd must keep on that part of the grounds set aside for spectators, as the club will not be responsible for accidents, whilst cars will not be permitted to park along the road within half a mile of the aerodrome. Ample parking accommodation is provided on the grounds. A guessing competition will be held, in which the public may gauge the height of the 'planes in the sky. Tickets for the competition will be on sale during the day. Afternoon tea will be procurable on the grounds, this department being in very capable hands.
