HAWKE'S BAY JOCKEY CLUB.
The Hawke's Bay Jockey Club committee met yesterday. Present : Messi-s H. A. Russell (chaix-man), J. H. Colebourne, F. P. Kelly, H. R. Peacock, M. Greenwood, T. H. Lowry, J. S. McLeod, G. D. Beatson, O. Nelson, T. V. Mox-rin and J. N. Lowi-y. The committee passed a motion of sympathv and condolence with the relatives of the late Mr Jas. Landels, for many years a steward of the club. Leave of absence was granted to Mr J J. Gatenby. The lease of grounds to the Hastings Football Sub-Union was held over. It was resolved to confirm the appcintmettt of Mr M. Shannon as judge for tlie second day of the Autumn meeting. The N.Z. Racing Conference forwarded various circuiars and also 'lists or dates for the current year's racing. Dates selected by the club for 193031 are : — Spring, October 4, 1930 ; Summer, January 1 and 2, 1931 ; Autumn, Apxil 17 and 18, 1931 ; Winter, June 39 and 20, 1931. The coursp committee' s report was read and adopted. The prograxnme for classic events was approved, also the cluh' s Winter meeting, with minor alterations.
