MASTERTON, Last night. A well-known resident of Masterton, Francis William Pointon was killed outright to-night when his car left thercad at Wangaehu, about 6£ lmles from Masterton. Deceased was returning to Mastertou in company with a man naraed Ricketts when the car left the road, fallipg about 25 feet. Pointon, who was driving, was thrown out, striking his head on.a culvert. The other occupant, although rendCred unconscious, escaped with minor injuries, remaining in the car. Deceased was a iniddle-aged nian. He leaves a wife and family of four. He was in business as a commission and insurance agent.
