CARE OF THE RAM

HINT TO HAWKE'S BAY WOOLGROWERS. QUESTION OF FEEDING. At this time of the year, when the rams are out, a little advice on the care and feeding of rams should not come amiss to Hawke's Bay farmers. Tn tlie Homeland they pay particular attention to the feeding of their rams throughout the mating season. Buyers at our ram fairs frequently forget that the sheep they have purcbased liaye been liberally fed from birth, and therefore require more attention in . the feeding than if reared like the ordinary flock. Between the time of purchase and the date of putting out to ewes rams may not only lose condition, but also much of .their sexual vigour, if they nro not properly fed. Most of them have had grain of some kind, and a pint of oats dailv will keep them in good heart, In the case of stud rams going singly this ration should be kept up right through the season.
