THE AUSTRALIANS IN LONDON A Message From The King. (British Official Wirelees.t LONDON, April 24. The members of the Australian cricket team wei-e officialiv welcomed at Australia House to-dav by Sir Granville Ryrie, High Coinmissioner for Australia. IMany Australians rcsident in London were present. Past and present Englisli cricket was represented by Mr Warner and Mr Cliapman, who captained the last English touring side in Australia. while London was repi'esented by Sir William Waterlow. the Lovd IMayor. The King's third son the Duke of Glouoester, Lord Plumer, president of the Marylebone Cricket Club, Lord Harris, Lord Decies and representatives of all branches of sport were among the guests at a lunclieon subsequently given in honour of the Australians at the Savoy Hotel by the British Sportsmen's Club. Lord Decies read a telegram from the Iving weleoming the Australians. His Ylajesty said, "I am glad my son is present on this occasion. whicli I trust may be a liappy beginning of an enjoyable tour." Lord Harris, greeting the visitors on belialf of English cricket, mentioned that everyone was lonking forward to seeing this young side. The Worcester cricket team against the Australians will be chosen from the following: — Major Jewell. H. A. Gilbert, C. F. "Walters, Root. Wright, Gibbons, Nichol, V. Fox, J. Fox, Jackson, Styler, Brook and Parks. The two lastnamed are new to Worcestershire cricket.
