"DAMES AHOY," WITH GLEN TRYON—MAJESTIC.

Not for a long tilne has so much laughter filled the Majestic Theatre as was the case on Saturday night,- when Universal's latest comedy, "Dames Ahoy," decidedly one of the fiinniest films ever produoed, was presented. The lead in the production waB taken ■ by that favourite, Glen -TiyoU, who from a start in the collegiate series lias,, risen to the forefront of the film comedians. His fellow sailors in "Dames Ahoy" were Otis Havlan and Eddie Gribbon and these three, while on shore leave, set oUt to find. a hlonde who had tricked one of their number to sign away half his pay. . The matter became extremely complicated when Ti-yon ' quite unwittingly ' ivon a dance contest of £100, a bUngalow and a bride. Helen Wright, a newcomer to the screen. made a most successful debut and should go a long way. The huinorous situations which arose were mnltitudinous and unrestrained laughter of the auclience was eloquent of appreciation. The majority of the scenes were laid at an amusement beach, where the three sailors continued to becbme entangled in the most extraordinary situations. It was really a delightful comedy, thel*e not bbing one moment of dullness throughout. The story was' from the pen of Sliennan Loive, and was excellently produced by William James Craft. In addition to this big laugh there was another of those delightful. cartoons by Micky tbe Motise entitlecl "The Haulvfced House," while a very excellent selection of all talkie shoi*t subjects completed an • evening of the most delightful nature. Seats should he l-eserfed.
