HASTINGS COURT

FORTNIGHTLY MEETING OF JTJSTICES. A large batch of motorists and lyclists, were charged with. various breaches at the Hastings Police Court bhis moraing, before Messrs R. B. Holmes,. and A. -A. George, J's.P. DEFAULTING CYCLISTS. Clarence. Gulbransen, George Dawson Mai-y Wilkie, Thomas Bert, Elsie Jillmgs and Dennis Kelleher . were charged with riding cycles without iights. . ' In each case a fine of 5s, costs 10s, was infiicted. NO RED REFLECTORS. Clarence Gulbransen and George Dawson were each charged with not having a red reflector attached to the rear of his cycle. The fine in each case was 5s, costs 10s. MOTORISTS WITHOUT LIGHTS. Driving motor vehicles with in sufficient lignts was the charge against Arthur Rober.t Frederick Allan, Tiki Fraser, Geoifry Albert McLean, George Percy Gooday, Sarah Bolt, and. Neil Murton. Defendants Allan and Bolt, who appeared, were fined 5s, costs 10s. Defendants McLetan, Gooday and Murton, who did not appear, Were fined 10s, costs 10s, and defendant Fraser, who had heen previously warned, was fined £1, costs 10s. ALLEGED DANGEROUS. DRIVING, John Alfred Swinhurn was charged with driving a motor vehicle at a speed dangerous to the public. Constable Heffernan said that the car was "all out," racing another car. A fine of £2/ "costs 10s, was infiicted. KennefTi Roxhorough Soward was siinilarly charged. Evidence was given that he crossed intersections ap 30 miles an hour. A fine Of £3, costs 10s, was infiicted. On the information of Traffic Inspector J. R. Dunnett Percy Walden was charged with a like offencO. The inspector said that defendant was riding a motor cycle, with a pillion rider, and was not holding his handle hars, His arms were folded. He was fined £2, costs 10s. Rieliard Cullen was also charged with a similar breach, the inspector stating that defendant drove a motor truclc across intersections at 30 miles an hour. He was fined £2, costs 10s.
