WAIPUKURAU HIGH SCHOOL.
The deputv mayor of Waipukurau, Mr E. J. Turner, presided over the meeting of householders of the Waipukurau District Higli School. At a subsequent meeting of the newly elected committee Mr Black was appointed chairman )and Mr Smart hon. secretary. The chairman. and secretary were appointed trustees of the school iniprovement fund. Eulogistic reference was made' to the work of the retiring secretary, Mr.'F. N. McVicar.,, and a resolution _ was passed placing . on record appreciation of his services. The annual report showed tliat the school gradin.or had 'been raised, also that during the year £129 had been spent from the .school improvement fund. and that much good work would be the outcome of this expense. In spite of the fact that the admission cbarges to the school ball had heen considerably reduced a very fine profit of £33 10s 3d had heen the result. ...
