RAINFALL APPRECIATED
■WARM SHOWERS BENEFIT PASTURE. CONDITIONS IN CENTRAL . HAWKE'S BAY. Central Hawke's Bay had a slightly greater rainfall than the northern end of the district on Tuesday and ruling conditions were much appreciated by the farming community. Beginning with a heavy shower in the early morning hours, the fall continued at intervals throughout the day, coming on particularly heavy in the afteraoon. Whilst only of comparatively short duration, the effect of the rain in freshening pasture was visible all the way down the line and it only needs three or four days of the nature of Tuesday to coax the tardy Winter growth' away.
