WHITE FAXG TAKES AUTUMN HANDICAP.
AUCKLAND, Last mght. The Avondale Jockey Club's Autumn meeting was concluded to-day in fine weather. There was a good attendanee, and the.track was soft after the heavy rain. The totalisator for the day handled £34.170. compared with £3o,018 10s, making a total for the meeting of £76,269. compared with £79,025 10s. Following an inqinry hy the stewards into the falling off of Paitonu in the Autumn Handicap, F. Bentley, rider of Flying Jnliet, was suspended for a month for incompetent riding. Results : — Handicap Hurdles. 4 Kauri Park (Rurgess) 1, 2 Mountain Guide 2, 6 I)ark Prince 3. Kawini was scratched. Won by a neck eacli way. Time, 3min. 4Ssecs. , Dominion Handicap. — 1 Sir Mond jtGrav) I, 4 Opcratic 2, 3 Stonehenge 3. Scratched: Roval Finance. Won by a length and a neck. Time, lmin. 29 2-5secs. Nursery Handicap. — 6 Lady Court (Cammick) 1, 7 Full Measure 2, 5 Biddy's Boy 3. Scratched : King March. Won by one and a half lengths, threequarters of a length hetween second and third. Time; linif). 16 2-5secs. Set Fair fell in the Nursery Handicap and broke her neck. Waitakere Handicap. 2 Prince Orange (Bagby) 1, 1 Tenakoe 2, 5 Hipo 3. Scratched : Sir Russell, Standfast, Mauriaena. Won hy a head, with two lengths between second and third. Time, lmin. 28 4-5secs. Autumn Handicap, 1 mile. — 6 White Fang (R. W. McTavish) 1, 1 Eager Rose 2, 4 Lucy Rose 3. Also ran : 3 Paitonu, 5 Mervette, 7 Maori Boy, 8 Royal Doulton, 2 Vali, 10 Nassock, 11 Prince Yal, 9 Gemlight, 12 Flying Juliet. 14 Kawainga, 13 Owairaka, lo True Blood. Royal Doulton got away badly. True Blood lcd into the straight and a great race then ensued. Vali sliotved out at the distance but Eager Rose soon had his measure. , Tlien White Fang, hard ridden, came th rough ivith a cbaracteristic dasli to beat Eager Rose by a neck, with Lucy Rose, who came on the outside from a long way back, a head away third. Vali was fourth. Paitonu fell. Time, 1.40 2-5. Mount Eden Handicap, 6 fnrlongs. — 1 Royal Parade (K. Voitre) 1. 2 Lady Quex 2, 4 Awarere 3.* Also ran: 6 Hoariri, 7 Branson, 5 Gohl Money, 3 Valuation, 8 Awamutu. Gold Money was badly left. Awamutu led into the straight, but fifty yards from home Lady Quex was in front. Royal Parade then came fast to beat Lady Quex by three-quarters of a length, with Awarere a length away third. Valuation was fourth. Time, 1.14 3-5. Mt. Roskill Handicap, 1 mile. — 14 Grand Tea (W. H. Jones) 1, 7 Avoncourt 2, 5 Carl Idem 3. Also started : 3 Spring ^Ahbey, 8 Thurnus, 2 Motere, 1 I'm Alone, 9 Currajong, 4 Haviland, 2 Kairuri, 10 Lucky Alice, 6 Mauriaena, 15 St. Ames, 13 Neil, 11 Takuranga. Won hy one and a-half lengths, third three-quarters of a length away. I'm Alone was fourth. Time, 1.42 4-5. Morningside Handicap, 1 mile. — 1 Standfast (R. W.
