CLERK OF COURT ARRESTED. REMjAND AT OHAKUNE.

, WANGANUI, Ihis day. Detective Reville yesterday arrested at Raetihi James Laing, aged 27, married, Clerk of the Court for Raetihi and Ohakune, on a charge of the tbeft of money from his department. Accused was brought before the Court at Ohakune and temanded to June 11. Bail was allowed. It is thought the sum involved will he in the vicinitv of £300. It is under* stood that an audit of court documents had not been made since July last. Laing was formerly stationed on the West Coast and later 'at Hamilton.
