THIRTEEN DEGREES
HEAYY FROST JN HASTINGS. THIS MORNING'S EXPER1ENGE. The record frost for Hastings foi many years past is lo degrees. a figure which was reacl^ed some four years ago. Sinc-e then several frosts with a density of 11 and 12 degrees have been recorded, but this morning Hastings was visited b.y a frost of 13 degrees. the heaviest recorded in four years. The ground was as white as if it had been under a heavy fall of snow and the atmospbere in the early morning was icily cold. but fortunately a strong sun soon br^ke through and a glorious da^ followed. This morning's frost was responsihle for tlie breaking of many water Dipes nnd a general freeze-up of the water in household taps.
