FUNERAL AND SECRECY
Extraordinary precautions were taken to keep secret tlie arrangements i'or tlie funeral of Prebendary Bernard Reynolds, the 80-year-old Canon and Prebendary of St. Paul's Catliedral, ivho died at Brighton recently. I11 accordance ivith the prebendary's last wishes, liis body was cremated, and the aslies were later taken to sea in a boat and scattered. Tlie service was conducted by Prebendary Reynolds' son-in-law, the Very Itev. E. L. Henderson, the Dean of St. Albans. Only three women and a youth — they wero under stood to he close relatives — were present. No mourning was worn hy request, and the funeral party drove up in an ordmary niotor-car.
