EXCELLENT DOUBLE FEATURE BILL AT THE GAIETY.

It ia a long time since two sueh excellent features were presented to the public in the same programe as was the cas© at the Gaiety De Lnxe Theatre last night, in fact, the management excelled themselves and the. audience was thoroughly delighted as a. result. Picture loxrers of Napier are well acquainted with those grest favourites of the screen, Janet Gaynor and Charles Earrell, and wer© especialIy pleased at their reappearance in "Lueky Star," a Fox Movietone production directed hy Frank Borsage. At the commencement of the picture Farrell was presented as a sturdp country boy and Janet as a young and none too honest farm maid. This was on, the ev6 of the xvar, in which Farrell was made a cripple from the waist doxvn. It xvas thus that he came liome, xvhen _ he found himself falling in love with the little girl xxdio was now attaining mor© mature years. She xvas greatly transfprmed by his love and delightful seqxiences folloxved nntil Farrell learned that a former sergeant xvas about to place a stigma on the girl's character. Infuriated and forgetting his handicap Farrell fought a blizzard_ in order to save her, his efforts being croxvned with success. His portrayal of this seetion of the production xvas one- of the outstanding features of tlie evening and revealed his tvue worth as a dramatic aetor. Both Farrell and Miss Gaynor gave, as usu-al, delightful perforrnances, and their acting was a delight to behold. There xvas an excellent supporting, cast, among which the most notahe were Guinn Williams and Hedxviga Reicher. The second great feature of the evening was entitled "Caught In the Fog," and l'eatured May McAvoy and Conrad Nagel, ably supported hy Mack Swain, Charles Gerrard, Hugh Herbert, Emil Chautard, and Ruth Cherrington. This picture proved. to be a most amusing comedy. The sceiies were mainly laid on a benutiful yacbt lying off the coast of Florida, upon xx'hich came aboard a Sheik bandit xvith his lady aide to take from the boat ihe famous jewels lield therein. Wliile tli© xvork of rifling Ihe cabiu was proceeding Ihe son arrived and a tight enstied^ in xvliich ihe Slieik escaped, leaving May McAvoy, 1 he aide, and ihe sun, Conrad Nagel, together. Upon seein.g hira all her desiies 1o steal left her and iliere lol lowed a delightful utunber of humorous sitnaliuiis xvliich led up to a most amusing and higlily saLisl'actorv finish. These txvo great features were not all that xvas offered patrons of the Gaiety last night, hoxvever, for in addition there xvas a highlv amusing comedy and the very latest Fox sonnd news, the xvhole programme being one of the most enjovable seen for a considerable time. Patrons are advised of the great attraction for Saturday, ■namely, John Gilbert in his first alltalking triumph, "His Glorious -Night,!' for which the box plans are now open.-
