AMOUNT AT STAKE. Manitoba Premier's Estimate Too Low.
(Reoejvprt This Day, 1 YANCOUVER, Oct. 29. "Edmonton, Alberta, will not lose one cent ultimately, even though the banks may have to call upon the prairie governments to make good wheat gnarantees," states the Premier Mr Brownlee. He regards the ainount at stalie as speeulative, bnt believes tliat tlie 10,000,000 dollars estimate of- tlie Manitoba Premier is too low. ■ The Governments are not being pressed to meet the guarantees yet. The Winnipeg Tribune states that the Manitoba pool has ample assets to pay whatever the Government may liave to meet in guarantees, all assets being pledged when tlie guarantees were arranged. The last financial statement of the Manitoba pool showed 4,334,425 dollars of assets.
