OBITUARY
MRS E. B. R ASHLEIGH. It was with very deep regret that residents of Hastings learned yesterday of the death of Mrs Ella Beatnce 11 ashleigh , which occurred at her residence , Lascelles street. A daughter of the late Mr and Afrs P. J. Armstvong, of Carterton, the deceased lady, who was 51 years of age, was born in Greytown, Wairarapa, and during the past"'ten years she had lived in Hastings with' her husband. Huring lier residence in this town, she beeame very well and popularlv known, talcing a keen "interest in the social work of the town and also in - musical circles. She was a prominent memher of the Havelock North Women 's Institute and thp Cihoral Society, and as a memher of St. Mafcthew's Guild she did much liavd work wliich was appreciated to the f»illest extent and particularly in these circles will she be greatly missed. There was no family, but to mourn her death she leaves her husband, three sisters and five brothers, to whom the deepest sympathy will be ei^ended. The sisters are. Mrs C. M. Wakelin, Carterton, Mrs Rupert Eairbrother and Miss H. Avmstrong, both of Tamworth, New Sontli AVales . The brothers are, Messrs G. P. Armstrong, Alelbonrne, H. H. Armstrong Carterton, H. S. Aimstvoug, Palmerston North, L. G. Armstrong. Auckland, and ihe Rev. C. -T. Armstrong. Brisbane. The funeral will leave her late residence, 501 Lascelles street, at 2 p.m. to-morrow, for St. Matthew's Church.
