WEDDING BELLS

WATSON— HASTINGS. A pretty wedding was solemnised at St. John's Cathedral, Napier, on Saturday evening last, when Doris 3Iarie Ruth only daughter of 3Ir and 3Irs A. A. Hastings, of Ivennedy road, Napier, and Ivenueth Alexander, only son of 31r and 3Irs R. S. Watson, of 3IcVav street, Napier, were joined together in holy matrimony. Dean Brocklehurst, officiating. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her fatlier, looked cliarming in a dress of ivory satin charmante, with close fitting sleeves, finished with tiny satin huttons. Tlie semi-prineess hodice was eft'ected with an inset panel of satin, which finished in a V at the waistline. The veil was of tulle, riclily embroidered, held iu position with orange blossom clusters. She wore white satin shoes and carried a bouquet of white rosebuds. C'hristmas lilies and orange blossom. , Tlie bridesmaids were the 31isses Joyce Sutton and Betty Robottom, of Otane (cousin of the bridegroom), who were daintily frocked in delphinium blue silk ge'orgette. With these were worn picfcure bats, with satin shols to tone, and each carried a houquet of apricot roses and delphinium. A niece of the bridegroom, Nola Kirkham, made a sweet flower-girl, dressed in a delightful _ frock of pink crepe de chine, with edging of blue for-get-me-not's. She carried a basket of pink rosebuds, sweet peas and delphinium. The page was little Jackie Hastings, who wore hlack velvet kneebreeches, with a white satin shirt. The duties of best man were capably carried out by Mr J. McDougoll, of Wellington, 31r Donald Douglas being groomsman. 3Ir Pei'cy W. Tombs presided at the organ and rendered delightful bridal music. The Catliedral chancel was beautifully decorated. At the conelusion of the ceremony a reception was held in the Foresters' Hall, 3Irs A. A. Hastings receiving lier guests in a delightful ensemble in saxe blue, the pleated skii-t being of Celanese silk and the juinper of silk lace. With this was worn an attractive toque carried out in velvet ficwers. Tlie shoes wrere to matcli, and she carried a bouquet of apricot roses and fern. There were about 160 present, the hall being charminglv decorated in blue and white paper streamers and -floral effects. Tlie stage was ti mass . of heautiful flowers, wliile the three long tahles used were also effectively decorated w-ith Iceland poppies. A blue and white petalled hell was suspended over the lieads of the liappy couple. Tlie deeoration of the liall as well as Ihe church was carried out by 3!r and 3Irs W. R. 31oss (friends of the family). Later tlie liappy couple left on tlie lioneymoon tour of the North Tsland, the hride's _ travelling dress heing of geranium silk marocain in attractive design. With this was worn a hlack silk coat and a lnit of heige fancy crinoline, with transparent edge. Mrs R. S. Watson , niother of the bridegroom, was liecomingly dressed in dress of liavy crepe de chine, flared, with a navy silk marocain coat. She also wore a smart Bangkok hat, with diminutive sliaded pink velvet flowers. She carried a houquet of apricot roses. 3Trs 3V. Hastings, sister-in-law of the bride, wore an attractive georgette onsemble in fforal beige, with hat Ho tone. 3Irs H. Kirkham, sister of the hridegroom, beconiing model ensemhle in beige floral georgette, with flared skirt, and brown straw hat. 3frs A. Robottom, aunt of the bridegroom, silk marocain dress, with golden brown hat, sliaded with pink velvet flowers. Tlie following relatives were present: — 31r and Mrs A. A. Hastings (brotlier and sister-in-law of bride), 3Ir and 3'Trs H. Ivirkbam (sister and brother-in-law of bridegroom), 31r and Mrs R. Stevens, Mr and Mrs Jesten (Hastings), 3Ir and 3Irs J.
