IMedical evidence was given that tlie prisoner sliowed no signs of insanity hut that the crime could he attributed to his drinlring prior to the offence. The girls' skull was fractured. The judge said that the prisoner was fortunate that he was not charged with murder. The true explanation of the prisoner's conduct was that he had struck tlie girl to spite her father.
