Keen interest was taken ifi the first week's £10 10s cash competitions at fhe "Bohhy Jones" mmiature golf course, for which the semi-ffnals^ and final games were played last night. There was a very large attendance during tho day, hut in the evening there was an even larger erowd, tull advantage being taken by a large number of sightseers to see the play in the finals. Play all through was of an interesting and' exciting character, aua the various games were watchea with great interest. It was noticeable, however, that some of thq players were rather nervous and failed to do so well as they had done in some of their previous. games. Taken all round, however, the standard of play was very high and spoke well of the skill attained in ' so short a penod of time. In the final of the ladies' coinpetition, Mrs I. Bradmore and Mrs_ C. A. Johns played a very intercstmg game, victory going to Mrs Bradmore, with the great score, for a competition, of 55, defeating Mrs Johns by 12, Mrs Johns' score in the final playoff being 67. Miss Marjorie Bullen, who had scored 65 in the play for positions, was third. Mrs Bradmore's plav right through was remarkably good and consistent, and the win was well merited, as her last three scores ranged from 54 to 57, a great performance, In the final of the men's competition, Mr Hoiue-Douglas, made the splendid seore of 52. Mr P. Sutton, who was Mr Douglas' oppoxxent scored 70 in the final play-off. Mr Templeton, who' played Mr Biddle for third prize, put up a very good game, scoring 55 agaxnst Mr Biddle' s 63. These competitions will be held every week, and there is no entrance fee. Players are advised to see that their cards are handed in each evening, so that the best cards may be noted, and will tlius entitle the players to be included in the play-off games.
