AMATEUR ATHLETICS
NEST HASTINGS GATHERING. ON WEDNESDAY EVENING. The Hastings A.A. and C. Club will hold its next sports meeting at Nelson Park on Wednesday, December 10, cominencing at 7.45 p.m. The club, being unsuccessful in its efforts to seeure a visit from J. W. Savidan, Empire games and Dominion cistance champion, has now been successful in arranging for a basketball teams' relay race. The teams will be representative of the various basketball clubs in Hastings, and it is lioped at a later date to arrange a eontest between the champion team of Hastings and the wTnners of the Napier eontest, so that competition should be very keen. - Tn addition a splendid and varied programme has 'Been arranged, and as competitors from Waipukurau, Waipawa, and Napier have again signified their intentions of competing, the pnblic can be assured of a good night' s entertainment.
