UGLY SCENE AT CHRISTCHURCH MAYOR HELD UP TO RIDICULE.

CHRISTCHURCH, This day. An ugly scene occurred during an unemployed demonstration inside ihe city Council Chambers in Manchester 'street. this morning. A number of men took_ possession of the chamher, carrying banners and demanding to see the Mayor. When he arrived he was lield up to ridicule. A- strong force of poliee arrived and ordered the meii out. There was a good deal of shouting and struggling. Finally, the police dvew their batons and at least one of the leaders got a sharp rap on the liead and was ejected.
