DR. SPEER. A FEW PUNGENT FACTS FOR THE PUBLIC. THE following statement I feel justified in giving to the public, as it may help others, and if so^ I hayo performed a sacred duty to mankind. Eighteen months ego I was" taken with a cold, pain in my chost", cough, wasting o£ flesh. I called on a doctor, who examined me, and said he thought it was a bronchial trouble, and treated mo £or 14- months. During that timo he said there was nothing serious with the lungs ; but, nevertheless, was conslantly losing flesh and getting weaker. The said doctor left the city, and put me in charge of a brother practitioner, who said one lung was completely gone, and could do but little for mo. In a short timo I went to the third physician. He thought at first there was not much the matter, but on a second examination said both lungs were badly diseased, and could do nothing for me. By this time I was prdtly well disheartened, but called on a fourth. Ho said there was little that could be done, and by this time I was nnablo to work. My wife then persuaded me to call on Dr. Speer, who located the trouble, and pointed out to my own satisfaction where I felt tho inconvenience, and explained, what was necessary in order to remove it without asking me a question. This was sth October, and said that in a few days I should bo able to return to my work. In 15 clays I gained 71b, and was at 1 work in a week from the time I started his treatment, and have continued to improve ever since. The above are the plain facts of the case, and I will give any further information by addressing or calling on me. MR. H. G. HAVES, Karori.
