ENTERTAINMENTS, ETC.
THEATRE ROYAL. There Avas another appreciative audience present at the Theatre Royal last night. The Howard Brothers were as mysterious as ever ; Mr. Percy Denton's caricature of the Premier was greatly enjoyed ; Mr. Harry Shine sang a number of amusing songs, and a large number of other performers contributed to an excellent programme. There will be a change of programme to-morroAv evening. HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. Mr. Tod Callaway holds high revel nightly at His Majesty's, and the audiences never tire of him. The other members of the company do excellent work, and their turns are all highly appreciated. A change of programme is announced for Saturday evening. Despite the sudden rain storm yesterday afternoon, there was a good attendance at the bazaar and sale of work held in the Kent-terrace Presbyterian Schoolroom. There was a large attendance last night, and satisfactory business Avas done at the stalls. An enjoyable musical programme Avas provided. The bazaar was open again this afternoon, and it is to close this 'evening. Another musical programme Avill be presented to-night. There was a large attendance of subscribers to the Musical Union at the Dresden from noon to-day booking seats for the concerts which are to be held in the Town Hall 'at the end of next week and the beginning of the folloAvingAveek. The Taylor-Carrington Company arrived by the Pateena to-day from Nelson. Our readers are reminded of the garden 'party, sale ofWork, and concert at Crofton to-morrow afternoon and evening. Full particulars Avill be found in another column. Provided the weather keeps fine, the gathering gives much promise of success, the sale of ticket* for both afternoon tmd .evening having been very good.
