From 1893 .to 1895 lie was an assistant master at Christ's College, after which he was curate at All Saints', Wellington, England, and, later, .at St. John's, Roslyn. • In 1900 he was appointed a Canon of St. Paul's, Dunedin, and in 1906 of St. John's Pro-Cathedral, Napier.] ' •
