SALE OF CITY LEASES

- Two valuable City Council perpetual renewable leases for 21-year periods were sold this morning at the Town Hall Concert Chamber, Mr. Dunbar Sloane being the auctioneer. That of Section 103, with a 35ft frontage oh Brandon, street by 85ft in depth, was sold to Mr. R. M. Lyon at a rental of £357 8s 6d per annum, in addition to which the elssee has to pay the rates,: which for city properties are pretty considerable; and the lease of the corner section, 106, and part of Section 105, having total frontages of 31ft to Brandon street .and 85ft to Featherston street, was sold at a rental of £710 per annum, plus rates, to Mr. A. G. East. The four other leases put up were passed in.
