Christensen, and many other local cyclists. The cycling, therefore, should 'beof a very high order. In the amateur athletic section the New Zealand champion, A. J. Elliott (Auckland) and • lie Wanganui champion (Hamilton) will be competing against the leading local athletes, while Misses T>. Callinan (Canterbury). K. Ji'iylo (Hawkes Bay), and Barron (Foxloni will be in action against the local lady athletes. Large fields will be the order, and competition is expected to be keen and exciting. Many novelty event? are to be decided, and as added attractions there will be whippet racing and Highland and Irish dancing. Post entries will be taken for the dancing. The racing dogs will be seen not only on the flat but also over the hurdles. The needs ol the holiday should be more than well met by the big programme to be presented at the Basin Reserve.
