Winds.—Strong north-west to westerly winds to gales north of Greymouth and Kaikoura. backing gradually to south-west; elsewhere strong south to south-east winds to gales.
Barometer.—Rising rapidly. Seas.—Generally rough to heavy. Tides.—High south of East Cspe; elsewhere good.
Warning signals for southerly gales aro exhibited at Cape Maria. Van Diemen, Tiritiri, Cape Campbell, Stephen's Island, and Farewell Spit, and for a south-easterly gale at the Nuggets.
