HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE.
"Lido lady," London's big musical comedy success, will open the season hero with a matinee performance on Boxing Day, and will be staged for one week only, to be followed by other popular musical comedies. "Lido Lady" had a wonderful run in London. Sir Benjamin and Mr. John Fuller have sent to the Dominion their latest musical comedy company for this musical comedy season. It is headed by Freddie Forbes, the English comedian, who has starred in many English-speak-ing countries and Is one of the very few English comedians that Paris took to its heart. The supporting company Includes such popular artists as Aster Faire, another English Importation; Catherine Stewart, a dainty leading lady; Betty Lambert and Jack Phillips, both here with Elsio Prince; the Arnley Boys, a pair of clever dancers; The Big Four (Cliff O'Keefe, Charles Perrin, Fred Webber, and Frank Wignail), a fine vocal Quartet who are well known through their records; Verna Bain, solo dancer; Vera St. John, and a splendid chorus and ballet. "Lido Lady" is famed for its distinctive atmosphere In story, setting and score, its suave comedy, cleverly-contrived surprise situations, captivating orchestration, colourful lighting, and modern frocking. The frocking in particular is a striking feature. The box plan for this production opens at The Bristol to-day, and grand circle reserves for Boxing Night and Saturday are at Palmer's.
