A DANCE RECITAL.
T«wF £' i irai. and her dance P"PU3 from Island Bay Berhamporo, and Kilblrnlo, gave a dance recital in the Headlands Hall at KilwiTh on,Sat» rday ?lSht before an audience which mainly comprised parents and friends of,. the Performers, and which was more than satisfled by the display given. During the first d™« ? .i? c Pr°Srammo the various exercises done in the class were demonstrated, the children making a very attractive picture as, dressed in their apple-green classical frocks they went through tho graceful, movements Betty Bronson was particularly clever in a solo jazz number, and June Thompson was also very good m an acrobatic dance. A well-deserved encore was given, "Valencia," presented with full effects by Winnie O'Sullivan,Enid Guy, and AJaclan Guy. One of the best items of the evenIng, it not the best, was a minuet dannnri hi two little girls, P. Hunt and j! Steubs Dressed in blue and rose brocade, with powdered hair, they followed the Intricate movements of the old-time dance practically faultlessly. A lighter touch was supplied by the whole company by donning red wigs and giving with plenty of I lm. t5 c Popular number, "Forty-seven Gingerheaded Sailors." Other Items presented were—Classical dance, by N. Messer; skipping dance' by E. Guy; spring song, L. Mowat, G. Dia-mond,-B. Guy, B. Shedden, B. Bobson, S. Stone; operatic dance, P. Hunt and J. Staubstoe dance, W. O'Sullivan; flower ballet, Mary Barnard, June Thomson, Stancie Stone B Thomson, Audrey MaeDonald, Joan Cooper' Beryl Caijou, and Edna Hosketh; Russian dance, A. Guy; operatic dance, G. Diamond.
