MR. W. NASH RETURNED
SLIGHT INCREASE IN
MAJORITY
THE FINAL FIGURES
The official count of the votes cast in the Hutt by-election, including absentee, postal, seamen's, and declaratory votes, which were not taken into consideration in tho preliminary count, shows that the Labour candidate, Mr. Walter Nash, is returned with a majority of 212 over his United opponent, Mr. J. Kerr. Mr. Nash's lead of 156 votes on. the first count "was increased by 56. The Electoral Officer announced the result of the official count late on Saturday night as follows:— % Nash (Labour) 5047 ■Kerr (United) 4835 Johnston (Reform) 2570 Informal 103 Majority for Nash ... 212 THE EXTRA VOTES. The seamen's and declaratory votes .vere evenly shared. by Mr. Nash and Mr. H.
