RAILWAY SAFE BLOWN

HASTINGS, This Day. The railway station was broken into about 1.15 a.m. and the door of a safe in the booking office blown open with gelignite. The enterprise of the burglars was not rewarded, as yesterday^ takings, running into a considerable sum, had been banked, all but a few shillings and some odd coppers. _ A passer-by, hearing the explosion, informed the police, and a constable was quickly on the spot. Ho arrested a loiterer with suspicious articles in his possession and detained him.
_ Evidently two men were concerned in the crime.
