BOXING DAY SPORTS
Athletes, cyclists, dancers, and whippets will provide a big afternoon 5f sport at the Basin Reserve on Boxing Day, when one of the biggest and most attractive meetings yet arranged by the Wellington Centre of the New Zeaand Amateur Athletic Association will bo staged. The talent for the occasion is outstanding, several of the most prominent athletes and cyclists from other parts of the Dominion being among the competitors. In the athletic section, Elliott (Auckland), the Now Zealand champion, and Henderson, the Wanganui champion, will bo. in action against U Jenkins, the Wellington, champion and other local sprinters. Entrants for tho ladies' sprints include Misses Hoylo (Napier), Barron (Foxton), and Calinan (Christchurch). Among the cyclists there will be F. J. Grose (Canterbury) and T. Oakley (Wairarapa). The racing all through should be of a high order, and the dancing will add much to _ the attractiveness of the meeting. Still another special feature will be the -whippet racing, the dogs appearing in events on the flat and over the hurdles. The meeting should be an excellent attraction for the holiday.
