A depression passed rapidly away eastwards during Saturday night, and an extensive anticyclone has since covered New Zealand and the Tasmau Sea. Strong northerlies blew during Saturday, accompanied by showers in Westland and about Fovcaux Strait. Elsewhere, although somewhat cloudy, the weather was mostly fair to fine, and during and since Sunday it has been almost generally ao. On Sunday moderate to fresh southerly winds prevailed, and comequcntly temperatures were rather cold.
