THE BOXING CHAMPIONSHIPS. The tournament will be continued at His Majesty's Theatre this evening. The following is the draw : Bantams.—Campbel; (Otago) v. Wennand (Wellington). Feather-weights.—Florio (West Coast) v. M. Leckie (Otago), L. Porter (Wellington) v. Hegarty (Timaru), Wilson (Canterbury) v. Gundry (Canterbury). Light-weights.—Thomson (Canterbury) v. Ross (Auckland), Finnerty (InvercargiU) v. Smith (Wellington). Welter. Penberthy (Canterbury) v. Watchorn (Wellington). Middle-weights.—Cooper (Dunedin) v. Campbell (InvercargiU), Monaghan (Dunedin) v. Hughes (InvercargiU). Heavy-weight.—Ruston (Dunedin) v. Ryan (InvercargUl). HOCKEY. The Match Committee of the Otago Hockey Association have decided that junior matches to-morrow shall be started at 2 p.m. and senior matches at 3.15 p.m. This arrangement has been rendered necessary owing to several of the grounds being unfit for play. The games wiU be started punctually to time, and players wlil therefore require to be on the ground at the time stated. TROTTING PERMITS. WELLINGTON, July 23. A deputation from the Trotting Conference to-day waited on the Minister of Interned Affairs and asked him to give back to the trotting clubs five " tote" permits now held by racing clubs. The number originally allotted to the former was 33, but only twenty-eight were taken up. The remainder were afterwards given to the racing clubs on condition, it is alleged, that they_ should be available for trots if ever required. The Minister promised to coneider the matter.
