OF LATE II(IN. D. 11. GUTHRIE. * ’l'lie following appreciative reference to the late Hon. I). H. Guthrie was made in the report of the Dominion Council of tlie New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association, which wa.s presented at the annual meeting in Wellington yesterday: “The representatives of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Assoeiaition met the late Air Guthrie on scores of occasions and although their requests were not always acceded to the kindly arid sympathetic hearings accorded by the Minister greatly assisted the interviews; it/ was always known that the 1 representations mode would be carefully and conscientiously considered. In his death the ex-soldiers have lost another friend and the New land Returned Soldiers’ Association, on their’ behalf, extended deepest sympathy to Alrs Guthrie and her family. ’*
