Representatives of the big picture film distributors have applied to the Adting-Chicf Justice in the High Court Chambers for an injunction restraining the State Government from levying and collectinga tax on the exhibition of picture films. A declaration was also sought (hat the Act under which the tax is collected was invalid. The matter has boon allowed to stand over until to-morrow, to enable counsel for the Government ot confer with the Attorney General.
