WEDDING BELLS.

McCONNON—ROBERTS. An interesting wedding took place at Mataroa, North Island, on Thursday last, the principals being well-known Kumara natives, viz., Mr Walter McConnon, son of Mr James McConnon, and Miss Sarah

Roberts, daughter of Mr Owen Roberts, of Main Street, Kumara. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Mr Tinsley at the residence of the bridegroom's mother. The bride was given away by Mr Sam Whitton (half-brother of the bridegroom) and Mr Thos. Hyde acted as best man. The bride's dress was a pretty grey, trimmed with white silk and chiffon lace, and her hat was a simple creation of crinoline. chiffon and lace. Miss McConnon, sister of the bridegroom, was her bridesmaid and was also daintily attired. Prior to her marriage Miss Roberts was entertained at a social at Mataroa and was the recipient of a number of household articles. On Sunday. 20th Septem ber, the Sunday School scholars gave her a salad bowl and spoons, oak and silver, which were presented by the eldest girl in school. The firm (Ellis and Darvill) by whom she was employed gave her a silver cake basket.
