OBITUARY. [By Telegraph—Press Association.] Wellington, last night. The Government has received a cable from London announcing the death of Sir Edward Stafford, three times Premier of the colouy. r BROACHING CARGO. The two firemen from the steamer Karainea were to-day sentenced to three months’ imprisonment for broaching two cases of brandy during the voyage. RETURNED TROOPERS. The troopers who returned yesterday by the Ivaramea were to-day entertained at dinner. The Hons. t Hall-Jones, Walker, and Mills were present.
