BOATING ACCIDENT.
MAN AND WOMAN DROWNED. [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, last night. Last night, at 11 o’clock, a boat with two men and two women on board capsized in the harbor, one man and one woman being drowned. William Reed, James Park, May Mills, and Mary Campbell left ia a dingey to go on board their fishing yachts. Park was pulling, the women sitting forward, and Reed aft. The women, it is said, began to squabble and then scuffle, and shortly after clearing the end of the jetty the boat capsized. Two fishermeu, Joe Winters and Petone, heaving the cries of the drowning people, jumped into their dingey, and succeeded in picking up Mary Campbell. Constable McDonnell and the crew of the ketch. Lizette succeeded in picking up William Reed. Both tne man and woman rescued were ia a very exhausted state when brought ashore.
