SAFE ARRIVAL.
THE HAWAIIAN ISLES WEATHERS A HURRICANE.
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, April 1. The ship Hawaiian Isles has arrived safely at Newcastle. The Hawaiian Isles encountered a violent hurricane 35 miles west of Wilson’s Promontory. There were no indications of the approach of the tempest, which was the most violent and sudden ever felt on the Australian coast. The vessel had the whole of her suit of sails blown away. A tidal wave, or waterspout, 50ft. high, was observed, but,the vessel got clear of it effects. V ■,
