TRAMWAY ACCIDENT. [By Telegraph—Press Association.) Christchurch, last night. Tho persons hurt by the tramway accident yesterday were not seriously injured. Mrs Ling was much improved this morning. It is probable slio will bo able to get about again in a week or two. Tho damago to the rolling-stock is not very groat. It is bolioved that tho accident was caused by the rain.making the line groasy, and the weight of five laden cars coming down tho incline pushing tho ongino against tho end of the chock-rail at tho points, so causing it to jump tho line. CHESS. At tho Chess Tournament to-day, R. J. Barnos drew with Dr Forsyth; W. G. Mason beat J. Wood ; and J. Mason beat J. O. Barnard.
