THE CARDIFF FIRE.
GOVEENMENT TAKE ACTION.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Greymouth, last night.gg] A party of experienced miners leave here-to-morrow morning for Westport. They have been engaged by the Government to extinguish the fire at the Cardiff mine. They will drive round the seat of fire above the eoal-bed, then put in crosscuts, and bore holes to where the fire is. Then water is to be turned into the tunnel to get to the seat of fire through the boreholes.
