AN INQUEST.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Thames, last night. At tho adjourned inquest in regard to tho death of William AVhite, found dead alongside his bed in his dwelling, Dr. Bond testified that there was no sign of poison in the stomach. Examination showed that death was due to syncope, caused by vomiting, the result of tho diseased condition of deceased’s stomach and liver. A verdict was returned in accordance with the medical testimony-. The persistent rumors to tho effect that the man had taken rough on rats arc thus entirely dispelled. A FIRE. At Hikutaia the merchant’s shop and outbuildings, owned by J. Corbett, have been destroyed by fire. Tho contents, groceries and general stores, the property of E. Strange, wero burnt. The building was insured for TIOO in the Sun office. The stock is insured in the North Queensland for .6300.
