TASMANIAN PREMIER’S FIGHT FOR THE SWEEP.
By Telegraph— Fross Association—Copyright Hobart, June 23. Tho Premier, in reply to the Hon. E. Barton, contends that tho post-office was handed over to tho Federal authority for general convenience, and not for curtailing tho control of local affairs, even though such curtailment was uniform throughout all tho Statos; further that tho Federal Parliament cannot directly or indirectly deal with any matters outsido thoso submitted to it. .
