The Agent-Gonoral’s market cablegram, dated dune 22nd, statos :—Avorago prices to-day: Canterbury, medium, i! 5-8 d; Dunedin and Southland, 11 li-Sd ; North Island, i!,',d. There is a scarcity of primo quality mutton, and thore has been more inclination to purchase mutton during tho past wook, but prices are dull for heavy carcases, Now Zealand lamb, Canterbury brand, frjd ; brands other than Canterbury, 5 li-Bd. Lamb market vory firm. New Zealand hinds, 3 o-8d ; fours 21d. Beef market vory dull. Supplies of American chilled beef aro largo. The homp market is steady. There lias been no change since last week. Cocksfoot is firm. Buyers aro not keen to do business, and arc waiting for reliable news. It is probable that thoro will be a record American crop.
