A SENSIBLE ADMIRAL.
BELIEVES IN BUTY, NOT IN ' SOCIAL ALLUREMENTS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Auckland, last night. At a meeting of the Harbor Board, Admiral Beaumont wrote, declining to lay the foundation stone of Admiralty House. He said he believed the Admiralty would not approve, the inference being that the Admiralty believe the officer in command of the squadron should remain on board ship when in port. In spite of this,-the tender of Mr Jenkins for £4995 was accepted for construction of the house.
