The Britannia proceeds on Wednesday to Norfolk Island to survey to Fiji via Fanning Island, thence to Honolulu, The Anglia, which lays the cable, is expectod early next year. Wellington, last night. The case of lvex v. Kirk was argued in the Court of Appeal this morning. It was a Crown case reserved from Christchurch for the Court of Appeal by Judge Cooper. Tho Court unanimously decided that the conviction must be sustained.
