Sir H. Campbell-Bannerman and Sir William Harcourt describe the Spectator’s statement that Cecil Rhodes contributed £SOOO to the Liberal election fund, on condition that tho Liberals should not withdraw from Egypt, as a lie. Tho Spectator asks for a better source of denial, the paper expressing belief in its authority for making tho statement.
